Metro League Tournament Results.

Monday's Results:

Play began with pigtail matches on Monday, Oct. 22nd.  The second and third place teams in Metro's six-team B Division played the 6th and 7th place teams in the seven-team A Division.  Losers of these matches were eliminated from further play.  The quarter final matches were then played with the remaining eight teams to setup the winner- and loser-bracket playoffs at Ballard on Thursday, Oct. 25th, for the seven Metro seeds to the SeaKing 3A District tournament.

Pigtails:

Lakeside (A7) defeated West Seattle (B2), 15-6, 15-10

Ballard (A6) defeated Ingraham (B3), 15-12, 15-6

Quarterfinals:

Seattle Prep (A1) defeated Ballard, 15-0, 15-1

Bainbridge (B1) defeated Chief Sealth (A4), 18-16, 15-10

Bishop Blanchet (A2) defeated Lakeside, 15-0, 15-3

Eastside Catholic (A5) defeated Holy Names(A3), 15-12, 15-12

Thursday's Results:

Eight matches were played at Ballard beginning at 3:00 pm on Thursday Oct. 25th.  With the exception of the first two matches on the winners' side (Blanchet versus East Side Catholic and Seattle Prep versus Bainbridge), all the matches were very close.  Lakeside took Chief Sealth to deuce in the second game before finally falling, Ballard went the full three games in its victories over Chief Sealth and Holy Names, East Side Catholic went to three to beat Bainbridge, and in the marathon Championship match, Blanchet went three and took over two hours to upset Seattle Prep.  The event was very well attended, and Metro fans saw some great volleyball.

Semifinals and Finals:

Blanchet defeated East Side Catholic, 15-6, 15-8.

Seattle Prep defeated Bainbridge 15-4, 15-3

Blanchet defeated Seattle Prep for Championship, 12-15, 15-8, 15-9

Third-Fourth:

East Side Catholic defeated Bainbridge for 3rd seed, 10-15, 15-9, 18-16

Loser Bracket Semifinals and Playoffs:

Holy Names defeated Lakeside, 15-17, 15-0.

Ballard defeated Chief Sealth, 15-9, 11-15, 15-13

Fifth - Sixth Playoffs:

Ballard defeated Holly Names for 5th seed, 15-9, 9-15, 17-15

Seventh-Eighth

Chief Sealth defeated Lakeside for 7th (and final) seed, 15-3, 15-13.
